Presenting an exceptionally rare Eva setting, possibly the only one of its kind available. Designed by Giovanni Travasa for Bonacina in 1965. This is an early example of the Eva chair design as the structure is 7 ribbons wide with the base ribbon on the back of the chair integrated whilst not being used as a support brace. The setting includes four Eva chairs and one coffee table. This outstanding setting was originally purchased directly from Bonacina by Alan and Ada Selwyn whilst they were on holiday in Italy. A custom order, it was manufactured and shipped to their home in Toorak Victoria Australia, where it became a focal point in the cabana room of their elegantly designed residence, named 'Naliandrah.’ The home was designed by the husband-and-wife architectural team of Holgar & Holgar in 1967. The setting was obtained directly from the Selwyn estate and remains in very good condition, having been well cared for over the years. While the original vinyl color was red, it has faded over time, resulting in a vibrant yellow hue that is consistent throughout. This change is attributed to indirect UV light exposure, although the setting has never been placed outdoors. The cabana room, where it was displayed, featured ample natural light due to large windows on one wall. The original white painted rattan remains in excellent condition, with few minor chips present. All chairs are structurally sound. The coffee table shows some paint wear on its top, as depicted in the accompanying images.
